<br />cst', 'I'I w <br /> <br />o <br />(::.1 <br />e, <br />w <br />..... <br />o <br /> <br />AVAILABLE DATA AT COLORAOO STATE UNIVERSITY <br />FOR THE ARKANSAS VALLEY OF COLORADO <br /> <br />Precipitation' <br />See attached list for the United States Weather Bureau <br />stations and their period of record, The IBM cards contain daily <br />values for precipitation and temperature, A supplementary network <br />was initiated by Colorado State University in July 1961 and main- <br />tained through December 1963 for 20 additional precipitation stations <br />between Pueblo and Lamar, Daily recurds are available for this <br />supplementary nelwork on monthly summary sheets. <br /> <br />Historic Ground Water Levels, <br />Water tabl!" measurements were initialed in Ihe early 1930's <br />for a limited numher uf observation wells along the Arkansas and III <br />its tributaries, Two measurements yearly were made and are recorded <br />from the time the observation wells were selected.. The observation <br />well netweork has been enlarged from time to tim"" <br /> <br />Power Records for Electric Irrigation Welts' <br />Annual power records have been obtained from electric' <br />power suppliers and include the total number of Kilowatl'hours <br />supplied, the number of wells served, and the percentage of the plants <br />that are lift pumps from surface water supplies, <br /> <br />.Str.eam_and,Uiv~ion Records, , . _ _, _ ''_' <br />Streamflow records for Canon City, Pueblo, Nepesta, La <br />Junta, Las Animas and possibly John Martlc1 have been placed on <br />IBM cards and may include daily as well as monthly and yearly values. <br />In some instances this will be for the entire period of record. Diversion <br />records for some canals including the Fort Lyon, Las Animas Con- <br />solidated and Las Animas Town are also available on IBM cards for <br />daily, monthly, and yearly values from 1939 to 1963, Original data <br />on streamflow and diversions was obtained from published annual <br />streamflow records, tabulations of the USBR and the Arkansas Valley <br />Ditch Association, and the State Engineer's Office. <br /> <br />Phreatophyte Data, <br />Extensive field surveys between LaJunta and Las Animas were <br />conducted during the summer of 1962 to map and determine the type and <br />density of cover of phreatophytes in that reach. Data is available for <br />a large number of transects that were randomly selected within that <br />reach to determine the density and type of vegetative growth. <br />
