The participating Duchesne <br /> <br />County farmers earned a total of $278,700 in FY 1980 for completed <br /> <br />practices. In Uintah County, ACP practices requireing cost shares <br /> <br />totaling $1.682,000 ,,'ere requested by 66 farmers, of "hich 22 were <br /> <br />through LTA's. A tot.,l of $399.400 in cost sharing was earned by Uintah <br /> <br />County farmers comple:ing their practices in FY 1980. <br /> <br />For whatever rea:;on, the Department of Agriculture has not i.dentified <br /> <br />money in its FY 1982 budget to continue this very cost-effective on-fnrm <br /> <br />program for salinity ,:ontro1. <br /> <br />We. the seven states. wish to stress that the on-farm and related <br /> <br />salinity control mensllres are an Important pnrt of th" Colorado River <br /> <br />Basin Salinity Contro:. Program, and should continue to be funded and <br /> <br />implemented as expedil:iously as possible so that the water quality <br /> <br />standards can be met 'lI1d water resources of the Colorado River llnsin can <br /> <br />be utilized in the mOHt efficient manner.
