<br />. <br /> <br />"- ~..) <br /> I- <br /> c) <br />.' 0'~1 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />There is evidence that irrigation in the Navajo Nation Unit is contributing to <br /> <br />increased salt loading of the San Juan River and ultimately the Colorado River. <br /> <br />There also is evidence that remedial actions taken on the farms and within the <br /> <br /> <br />off-farm irrigation distribution system will be able to reduce the current amount <br /> <br /> <br />of salt pick up from irrigation by about 75 percent. It is recommended that this <br /> <br /> <br />potential project be studied further, resulting in an irrigation plan to reduce <br /> <br />return flow and salt loading. <br /> <br />17 <br />
