Project Summary: <br /> <br />Goal n of thi s project was to assess di stri but i on and movements of <br />Colorado squawfish and their seasonal habitat use in the White River. A <br />final report entitled "Assessment of Colorado Squawfish in the White <br />River, Colorado and Utah, 1992-1994" was completed in August 1994. The <br />study showed that Colorado squawfish from the White River make long <br />distance migrations to spawning sites in the Green and Yampa rivers and <br />that the White River Colorado squawfish population is an important and <br />integral part of other Upper Colorado River sub-basin Colorado squawfish <br />populations, <br /> <br />Goal #2 is to develop a work plan for the White River documenting <br />ecological knowledge of the endangered fishes, Recovery Program needs, <br />and research required, The work plan has been drafted but has not yet <br />been completed. <br /> <br />IV. Study Schedule: Initial year FY 1992, Final year FY 1994 <br /> <br />V. Relationship to RIPRAP: Green River Action Plan: White River, l.A. <br />Initially identify year-round flows needed for recovery I.A.l. Develop <br />work plan, V.A.I. Determine relative abundance and fate of Colorado <br />squawfish congregation below Kenney Reservoir, V.A.2. Monitor White River <br />fi sh community downstream of Kenney Reservoir to detenni ne long-term <br />effects of mainstream impoundment. <br /> <br />VI, Accomplishment of FY 94 Tasks and Deliverables, Discussion of Initial <br />Findings and Shortcomings: <br /> <br />A final draft report was finished in December 1993 and sent out for <br />review in January 1994. The final report was completed in July 1994 and <br />reviewed and finalized in August 1994. Project findings include: <br /> <br />a. Stock i n9 of hatchery Colorado sQuawfi sh in Kenney Reservoi r was <br />unsuccessful. <br />
