<br />w <br />00 <br />CJ:) <br />(jl <br /> <br />TRANSMITTAL LETTERS <br /> <br />The Federal Water Pollution Control Act requires that at least <br />once every three years the states of the Colorado River Basin <br />review water quality standards relating to the salinity of the <br />waters of the Colorado River. The states collectively initiate <br />this review under the auspices of the Colorado River Basin Salinity <br />Control Forum and prepare a proposed report and, after holding <br />public meetings, prepare a supplemental report. <br /> <br />Upon the Forum's adoption of these two reports, they are <br />transmitted to the individual states for their own independent <br />action. The following is an example copy of the transmittal letter <br />to the Governor of the state of Arizona. Following this letter is <br />a listing of the Governors in each of the other six Colorado River <br />Basin states who will receive identical letters. <br /> <br />1 <br />
