Box 1338
Provo, Utah 84603

Dear Xr. Carpenter:

The Price River Distribution System serves all of Carbon County. We feel the
Price-San Rafael Salinity Program would be a tremendous benefit to the entire
county. It would give our farmers the necessary financial and technical assist-
ance to pipe their laterals and improve their on-farm irrigation systems. This
would save water and reduce deep percolation, thus redUCing on and off-farm
salinity problems.

We would like to see implementation of the program begin as soon as possible.
We encoura~e the Bureau of Reclamation and the Soil Conservation Service to
increase their planning effor~s to make early implementation a reality.

We appreciate the effort that both agencies have put into this program to
achieve the accomplishments that have been achieved thus far.

5in/7Y'

,Y~~ ;1-9 ~7~

~ B.
