<br />Federal Agencies <br /> <br />Reclamation coordinated with the ELM on land use and its relationship with <br />that agency's programs, such as the !blores Wilderness Study Area and wild and <br />Scenic Rivers Study. Coordination with the EPA occurred through obtaining <br />technical assistance on deep-well injection and a general review of the unit. <br />Reclamation also initiated informal Section 7 consultation with the FWS and has <br />kept that agency informed of unit changes and progress. Reclamation also has <br />coordinated with the Forest Service and the ELM on the installing of seismic <br />monitoring stations, which the USGS nOW' operates. <br /> <br />State Agencies <br /> <br />Reclamation has coordinated with the Colorado Division of Wildlife since <br />planning began on the unit. A vegetation monitoring program is nOW' being <br />conducted near the brine well field along the !blores River to assess any <br />effects of brine removal. Coordination has occurred with the State Division of <br />Water Resources on water rights for the unit. Reclamation has also coordinated <br />with the State DepartIrent of Health on the the analysis of the brine to <br />determine if any hazardous materials were contained in it; the DepartIrent found <br />no hazardous materials. Reclamation has also consulted with the Colorado State <br />Historic Preservation offices who concur that the proposal test would not effect <br />any significant cultural resource. <br /> <br />Agencies and Persons Consulted <br /> <br />The following agencies and organizations were consulted during the <br />formulation of the injection test well plan. <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum <br />Ken E. A permit for deep-well injection has been applied for fran EPA. <br /> <br />A utility permit for a highway crossing has been obtained fran the Colorado <br />OepartIrent of Highways.
