Attention: Gene Jencsok Randy Seaholm Re: #936.5 - Bear Creek Lake Operations Study Mount Carbon Metropolitan District Storable Inl10ws and Releases Gentlemen: On behalf of the Mount Carbon Metropolitan District (MCMD), we are submitting summary tables of the District's estimated "Storable Inflows" and "Releases" for use in the Bear Creek Lake Operations Study. A brief discussion of the MCMD water rights which are proposeU for storage in the lake follows: Water Ril!hts MCMD owns two water rights which already bave been transferred and decreed for augmentation purposes and for storage in Bear Creek Lake. The Hock-Hocking Mine water right is a decreed non-tnbutarv source near Alma, Colorado, The mine discharges into Mosquito Creek, a tributary of the Middle Fork of the South Platte River and is deliverable by gravity to the confluence of the South Platte and Bear Creek. Since the right is nontributary, all water diverted pursuant to the right is fully consumable. MCMD owns the right to an average annual yield of 0.40 cis of the Hock-Hocking water. In Case No. 83CW280, MCMD obtained a decree which enables the District to use the Hock-Hocking water in a plan for augmentation to support municipal uses, The decree also names Bear Creek. Lake as an alternate point of storage for tbis water right and reserved the right to exchange the Hock-Hocking water from the mouth of Bear Creek to Bear Creek Lake (Priority date of exchange. is November 29, 1983).
