,

001702

.

.

s~ring of 1967 will be a significant factor in our operations in 1967-68.

We estimate that a runoff e~ual to 40% of normal for the 12-month period

from April 1967 through March 1968 will be sufficient to permit continued

power operation of Colorado River Storage Project units while maintaining

rated head at Hoover. There has been only one year, 1934, during the

1906-66 period of record when the streamflow was lower than this minimum

re~uirement .

GENERAL INVESTIGATIONS

FEASIBILITY INVESTIGATIONS

Feasibility designs and estimates have been completed on all features

for the Battlement Mesa Project except Buzzard Creek Dam. Estimates for

this dam are in progress in the Chief Engineer's office. Reports have

been received from the cooperative agencies except the Bureau of Sport

Fisheries and Wildlife and the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. Prelimi-

nary data can be furnished by these agencies in advance of their formal

reports, so we do not expect the lack of reports to delay drafting of the

project feasibility report. The scheduled completion date for the pro-

posed feasibility report is February 1967. Appendixes have been completed

in draft form for Project Lands, Drainage, Plan Formulation, and Agri-

cultural Economy. Preparation of the Designs and Estimates, Operation

and Maintenance, and Financial and Economic Appendixes is underway.

l~water supply studies and agricultural economic studies are in pro-

gress on the Bluestone Project. As tentatively planned, the. Bluestone

Project would provide water for the irrigation of about 1,850 acres of

full service land and 3,430 acres of supplemental service land and would

develop about 12,000 acre-feet of municipal and industrial water.
