In addition,
the eastern boundary of this alternative is
drawn to .xclude several potential
transportation corridors for the extraction
of ore (s.. Based on publi c comm.nts,
Conflict Resolution Alternativ. Th.
company proposes to .xtract the or. using a
mul tipl. branch surfac. mining m.thod.
Av.rag. daily production would b. in the
rang. of 12,500 tons of or.. The total surface
dlsturbanc. after 100 years would b. 425
acres which includ.s the min. and its
s.rvic. ar.a. An additional 3 to 4 mll.s
(5-7 acres) of new road construction would
be n.eded. Also, outside the north.rn
boundary in the nonsuitabl. portion there
could be two und.rground min.s involving a
surfac. disturbanc. of 5 to 15 aCres.
Prosp.ctlng and .xploration activitl.s
would continu. outside the d.signat.d
boundary for economic deposits of
min.rals. This would occur in the high
potential ar.a along the north and
northeast edge of the WSA. Surfac.
disturbanc. would occur on about 10 to 20
acres.

Recr.ation - Th. suitable acreage und.r
this alternative would b. managed to
maintain a primitive backcountry r.cr.ation
setting to provide opportuniti.s for
hiking, hunting. camping. photography, and
mountain climbing. R.creational us. would
focus primarily on the Silv.r Cr.ek trail
which off.rs .asy acc.ss to R.dcloud and
Sunshln. P.aks, two of Colorado's 54 p.aks
ov.r 14,000 feet. Th.
