The net effective

evaporation from the Trinidad Reservoir surface is considered as

the computed evaporation less the estimated past consumptive use

in the reservoir area. Computations were as follows:

Precipitation. . . . . . . . . . .
Historic runoff
(50 acre-feet per square mile)
Historic consumptive use . .

Estimated gross evaporation.
Historic consumptive use .
Net effective evaporation. .

.

.

Net effective evaporation in feet per year was then distributed'

percentage-wise by months, based on data prepared by the Bureau

of Reclamation as mentioned above. Reservoir surface area data

from the area-capacity curve were used to prepare a fami:y of

curves showing monthly evaporation in acre-feet for the total

range in content of Trinidad ,Reservoir for uSe in operation

studies.

.

Y Keimig, J.
