Local Water Related Environmental Action Programs <br /> <br />(1) Water Quality Management plans <br /> <br />The Colorado Water Pollution Control Commission has delegated water <br /> <br />quality control planning responsibilities to planning commissions and/or <br /> <br />regional councils of government where they exist in the urbanized sections <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />of the state. <br /> <br />Planning responsibility for the five-county Denver SMSA (Standard <br /> <br />Metropolitan Statistical Area) including Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver <br /> <br />and Jefferson Counties has been delegated to the Denver Regional Council <br /> <br />of Governments (DRCOG). Other delegated planning agencies are the Pikes <br /> <br />Peak Area Council of Governments for El Paso and Teller Counties, the <br /> <br />Larimer-Weld Counties Planning Commission for these two counties and the <br /> <br />Pueblo Regional Planning Commission for Pueblo County. <br /> <br />(2) County Planning Commissions <br /> <br />The 1971 Colorado General Assembly enacted legislation concerning <br /> <br />county planning.
