The waterwill then <br />be released, as necessary, back to the <br />Animas River for municipal and in- <br />dustrial users within Colorado and <br />New Mexico. <br /> <br />The reservoir will have an inactive <br />pool of approximately 30,000 acre-feet <br />of water for recreation, fish, and wa- <br />ter quality purposes. <br /> <br />Pumping Plant <br /> <br />Reclamation is completing the de. <br />signs for the Durango Pwnping Plant <br />and construction will begin next year. <br />The 280 cubic feet per second capac- <br />ity pumping plant will be located <br />south of the center of Durango on <br />the west side of the Animas River <br />across from SantaRitaParlc. The plant <br />will pump water from the river up to <br />the Ridges Basin Reservoir. <br /> <br />Relocation of Utilities <br /> <br />and County Road <br /> <br />Four natura1 gas pipelines, an elec- <br />tric transmission line, and a county <br />road will be relocated as a result of <br />construction of Ridges Basin Dam <br /> <br />',I <br /> <br />and Reservoir. The pipelines, trans- <br />mission line, and county road will be <br />rerouted around the reservoir, The <br />work is expected to begin this sum- <br />meo: <br /> <br />l'ii <br /> <br />Cultural Resource <br /> <br />Contract <br /> <br />Reclamation is pursuing an Indian <br />Self-Determination and Education <br />Assistance Act (Act) contract with <br />the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe (UMUT) <br />for cultura1 resources investigations <br />on the ALP Project.
