The
work group agreed on the specifications for a base map which could be ussd
uniformly for reporting purposes. This map has been prepared but has
not been printed. Approval of the base map by A\,'RBIAC remains to be
obtained before its adoption for standard use in the comprehensive report.
The Federal and State agencies were canvassed early in the Committee
activity to determine their requirements for standard topographic mapping.
(By-prOducts of the topographic mapping program are understood as being
basic horizontal and vertical control and aerial photography.) The
results of the original canvass will be the data upon which the mapping
work group will base its tentative plan.

4
