Where the information was not readily
available, the agency responsible f:or providing it is indicated. Since
in Colorado all studies are proceeding as an integrated ef:f:ort, the
f:ollowing statements may not be applicable to that area.

Federal Agencies

1. Department of: the Army, Corps of EnRineers, is preparing and
distributinS f:or the f:our work groups of: which it is coordinating agency
statemente on possible solutions f:or Navisation, Flood Control, Water-
now Retardation and Flood Forecasting, Drainage, and Municipal and
Industrial Water Supply. It is planned that statements f:or 113 sub-
areas of: watersheds will be completed and dietributed by district
oUices of: the Corps by April 30, 1952. These will identUy the nature
of: possible solutions as collected in the four work groups by the
scheduled preparation dates. The data relating to additional drainage
problema being developed by state groups will be subsequently distributed
or combined with later stages of: report developmant. Statements on
poesible solutions f:or navigation are conf:ined to the principal streams
of: the three major basins and are expected to be completed by April 30,
1952. At the present t1Jne, and as scheduled, the possible solutions
statements f:or municipal and industrial water supply show provieion f:or
storage space f:or surf:ace water in reservoirs and list the communities
whose problems have been identif:ied. State and local determinations
of: fUture municipal and industrial water supply needs, and maps of:
sub-surf:ace supplies have been given limited draft distributions.

2. The Department of Agriculture has completed or is carrying
out waterf:low retardation studies for the entirs AWR area. Data are
available now f:or the Washita Sub-basin, the Grand - Neosho Sub-basin,
the Upper White Basin and the Lower Arkansas (below Tulsa). Studies
in progress on the Upper Arkansas (above Tulsa - including the Cimarron
and Verdigris Sub-basins), the Lower White, the Red and the Ouachita,
most of: which are expected to be completed by July 1952. All studies
will be completed by September 1952. Although separate reports by
priority areas established by AWRBIAC are not contemplated, the
Department of: Agriculture proposes to compile the data available :from
the above studies by those priority areas.

3. The Bureau of: Reclamation is preparing statements on possible
solutions to water use and control problema f:or 24 sub-basins in Texas,
Oklahoma, and Kansas below Great Bend. These will be completsd and

\'I(

~
