June 24.1974). On the Grand Valley Unit. the field statIOn has been completed. 6.8 miles of the Government Hlghline Canal have been concrele-hned. and construction 10 place the laterals in pipe is in progress. These activitIes are all confined to the Stage One Area. On the Paradox Valley Uni1. a contract has been awarded to study the feaSibility of brine diSPosal by deep-werllnJeCllon. The second phase 01 the contract to deSign an injection test well is nearing completion. A second contraClla Con. struCl and test the Injection well Will be inItiated In fiscal year 1982. Testing the welllield is continuing. Two studies presently in progress are (1) a verilicallon program to monitor the decrease in ground. water flows that would result from stoPPing seepage in surface water dltches: and (2) a comprehenSlve waste water plan is being developed for the Lower Las Vegas Valley. Lowe Virgin Alver. and Big Sandy River. The feaSibility studIes for eight 01 the Units are in various stages of completion, Sludies on the La Verkin Springs and Lower Virgin River Units ended in concluding reports. 9
