The main canal is
composed of unlined and concrete-lined trapezoidal sections, a rating section with
gauging station, four siphons, chute and outlet stilling basin.

Windsor Extension

The Windsor Extension begins at the bifurcation works on the Charles Hansen Supply

Canal and extends north, crossing the river, to the Windsor Canal and Reservoir

Company Canal, which diverts from the river above the point where project deliveries are

made. The Windsor Extension is V, mile long and has a design capacity of250 cfs. It is

made up of an inlet control works, concrete-lined trapezoidal section, Parshall flwne and

gauging station, bench flwne, the Poudre River Siphon, and an outlet control works. The area covered by the easements associated with the canal is
359.7 acres, with a typical width of 100 to 110 feet The canal passes through four
tunnels. The width of the easements above the tunnels is typically 12.5 to ] 5 feet. The
canal is designed to divert and transport water from the river to supplement irrigation
supplies taken from the North Fork by the North Poudre Ditch. Water diverted via the
supply canal may be replaced in the river about 6 miles below the diversion point by
water release from Horsetooth Reservoir via the Charles Hansen Supply Canal.

10
