ARTICLE T

The major purposes of this compact are to provide for the equitable

division and apportionment of'tho use of the waters of the Colorado River

System;' to establish the relative importanco of different beneficial uses of

water; to assure intorstate comity; to rem07e causes ofp~esent and future

controversies; to promote the expeditious agricultural and industrial dove lop-

ment of the Colorado River Basin and tho storage of its waters and to
