<br />Work was concluded on the oversight of the the Duchesne Hydrology Water <br />Availability Study. A sediment monitoring peer review panel was assembled and <br />a report, and scope of were developed by the panel. Work also included <br />contracting for the activities funded through the Fish and Wildlife Foundation and <br />supervising the water rights specialist. <br /> <br />C. Vampa River Reservoir Studies: <br /> <br />Vampa Operation and Management Plan: Developed scopes of work for hydrology <br />model review, updating the economic projections, gage installation and peer <br />review of sediment monitoring. The Division of Water resources staff <br />participated in the in developing the contract for the population update study and <br />represented the Recovery Program at public meetings to seek public input on <br />population growth scenarios. The annual report was also prepared for the <br />update of the population projections. <br /> <br />D. Coordinated Reservoir Operations: <br /> <br />Assistance was provided to the Bureau of Reclamation and CWCB staff in <br />developing the coordinated reservoir draft report and implementation plan. Once <br />the plan for coordination was competed it was presented at two sets of public <br />meetings. Staff from Water Resources representing the Service/Recovery <br />Program and presented information on the Recovery Program and the need for <br />high spring flows periodically. 1997 was a year when coordination was identified <br />to be of benefit and a full scale coordination effort was commenced. Water <br />Resources staff participated in bi weekly meeting and conference calls to <br />facilitate coordination and made the final decision on when to begin to <br />commence coordination. Work was coordinated with the efforts of the Loveland <br />and Grand Junction offices of Bureau of Reclamation, Denver Water, the River <br />District, the Division Engineer and the National Wether Service. <br /> <br />E. General Support Activities: <br /> <br />Served as Chairman of the Water Acquisition Committee where the fOllowing <br />tasks were performed: 1) Prepared meeting summaries for all WAC meetings and <br />reports to the Management Committee, 2) Prepared annual report to the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board on Ruedi flows and associated benefits to the 15-Mile <br />Reach, and 3) Prepared Scopes of Work and annual reports for the following <br />projects: <br /> <br />1. Water right Consultant Services <br />2. Palisade gage operation and maintenance <br />3. Return flow analysis for the 15-Mile Reach <br />4. Steamboat Lake water lease <br />5. Vampa basin population update <br />6. Sediment & gaging peer review workshop <br /> <br />Other work included monitoring 15-Mile Reach and Vampa River flows and <br />scheduling water deliveries from Ruedi, Wolford Mountain Reservoir and <br />Steamboat Lake when appropriate. Participated in the Technical Advisory <br />Committee and the Water Rights Planning Model Subcommittee for the Colorado <br />River Decision Support System.
