This project includes construc- <br />tion of Tat Momolikot Dam by the Corps of Engineers, and the construction <br />of the Vaiva Va Irrigation Project downstream from the dam by the Bureau <br />of Indian Affairs. Facilities for recreation, and fish and wildlife, are <br />included. <br /> <br />.;...,-'. <br /> <br />i..'.....-'; <br /> <br />-,.';', <br />'..,,'.....,. <br />~(;~~;::~::t <br /> <br />Wild Horse Dam.in northern Nevada was repaired during the fall of 1964, <br />after the reservoir had been drained. The wet spring has completely <br />eliminated fears that Wild Horse Reservoir would be .at a low level this <br />year because ofhaveing been emptied. The .capacity of the reservoir is <br />33,000 acre-feet. The Wild Horse Reservoir furnishes excellent trout <br />fishing, as well as supplemental water for irrigation at th'e Duck Vai1ey <br />Indian Irr igation Project. <br /> <br />.\.' It has <br />made a la.rge beginning on ins.tallation of approximately 40 miles of con- <br />crete, monolithic pipe. Development of approximately 1,200 acres has <br />been finished, and crops are being grown. <br /> <br />. Cochiti Lake Recreation -- A development plan has been completed for <br />theCochiti Lake Recreation Area. The Cochiti Tribe will use it asa <br />guide in developing commercial tourism facilities to serve the public. <br />About 700,000 vis itors are expected during the first year of its operation. <br />Negotiations continue between BIA and the Corps of ,Engineers for an <br />. easement to .allow the Corps to construct the dam and provide for the <br />Tribe to retain development rights for the recreation"area. <br /> <br />Navajo Irrigation Project - - Delivery has been made on the "Mole" <br />(a horizontal power drill), which is to start work June. 11 ana two-mile <br />tunnel on the Navajo proje.ct.
