<br />The 'lnlOunt of water to be made available to the Colorado-l3ig Thompson project
<br />for irrigation will be determined jointly by the Northern Colorado Water Conser-
<br />"aney District and the United States during the latter part of MarcIl. This deter-
<br />mination will be subject to change throughout the remainder of the irrigation
<br />season by agreement in light of any substantial changes in the prevailing condi-
<br />tions. Est; mates of thi s i rrig.ation re'1ui rement for the three conditions of
<br />inflow were derived by analysis of actual use in similnr years of runoff when
<br />the supply of project water was ample.

<br />The anticipated irrigation requirement of the North Platte project was based on
<br />the average delivery made to this project during the past years in which the avail-
<br />able supply was ample. The Kendrick project demand was based on past use.
<br />It was assumed that the Glendo unit irrigation contractors will use available.
<br />ownership up to 12,000 acre-feet per year.

<br />Irrigation requirements below Boysen can normally be supplied with a release
<br />of I, 000 to 1,200 c. f. s.
<br />
<br />Spring [nflow to Buffalo Bill Resenoir during the irrigation season is usually in
<br />excess of the requirements, and the reservoir can be filled in all years but those
<br />of extremely low runoff. However, some holdover storage must be available
<br />prior to the start of the irrigation season in the event that snowmelt is inade- .
<br />quate to supply the early season irrigation demands. In addition, if forecasts
<br />indicate that the reservoir will not fill, releases are further restricted in
<br />February, March, and early April to conserve water for late season Use.
