00298t~

;~:.:~})

acre-feet, respectively. All available Big Thompson River water would be
diverted to the Foothills Power System at Lake Estes. During June and JLLly,
al'ailal)le Big Thompson River water would be bypassed at Tunnel No. 1 when
irrigation deliveries and diversions at Lake Estes exceed Big Thompson Power-
plant capacity.

North Platte River Area

Even with the high carryover storage, the remaining vacant storage capacity of
thc North Platte River area would be adequate to contain reasonable minimum
water supplies without planned release of surplus river water.

Seminoe

(:t;;~1

With reasonable minimum runoff, powerplant releases from Seminoe Reservoir
would be reduced to about 800 c. f. s. during February and March and further
reduced to 500 c. f. s., the minimum required for downstream fishery conserva-
tion, during the remainder of the water year. The planned release schedule
combined with reasonable minimum inflows would produce maximum Seminoe
Reservoir content of 870,000 acre-feet by the end of June. Year-end storage of
828,000 would be 146 percent of normal.

Pathfinder

Pathfinder Reservoir would reach maximum storage content of 899,000 acre-
feet by January 31. Thereafter, storage would be continually lowered to meet
downstream irrigation demands. Fremont Canyon Powerplant releases would
average about 1,400 c. t. s. during April and May, and near powerplant capacity
thereafter. The normal irrigation requirements would be met without powerplant
bypass. Pathfinder Reservoir year-end storage of 366,000 acre-feet would be
210 percent of normal.

AIcova

Alcova Reservoir would be refilled to the normal summer recreation level (Ele-
vation 5498 - storage content 179, 000 acre-feet) by the end of April and thereafter
maintained within plus or minus one foot to provide a nearly constant water sur-
face for recreational purposes. The plan for irrigation delivery to the Kendrick
project would be the same for all three water supply conditions. With minimum
runoff, decreased river gains from Alcova to Guernsey reservoirs would require
greater releases through Alcova Powerplant to meet irrigation needs during the
July-September period.

31

{'X~-',~/
".;.~' .

.~..):<.' .

: :: ~
~.': - :'.' .'

-,......
!.-;;.';'":;":.;

::~~:~:!

:."-,"

.' :~: ::'.;~
:'.'.:.., .

....... .

-;::::</1
~~~:;.:~j~:~
,~..::.; ".':..,
'~'-!""':':""
'.
