which give promise of developing into mighty oaks of conser-
vation. Nevertheless there is disappointment that the big scale
cattle industry, of all food production plans the closest to na-
ture's plan of abundance, failed to reclaim the harmony, the
cooperation, the development and balance that was the earth's
heritage before the coming of man. However, the priveLege and
responsibility of analysis belongs to the reader rather than to
the reporter. Therefore only a very general suggestion is vol-
unteered, namely, that the agricultural production of food dif-
fers radically from standard production in industry, which pro-
cesses so called dead material, while the farmer deals with ever-
changing, developing inter-dependent units with which his co-
operation is of necessity mandatory.

To those, who per-adventure wisr to make an analysis of
the historical events in this and the following chapter on Dry
Fanning, is submitted the following comprehensive definitions
of history. Quote, "Civilization is not as we too often take for
granted the use and enslavement of a constant, static earth of
stored resources. It is an active evolution, developing mutual
and interdependent cooperation, between' the evolving human'
animal man, all other animals, plants, soils and minerals"a coop-
eration which can be destroyed - disrupted by the failure in
cooperation of any."
