<br />001379 <br /> <br />GLOOSARY OF WATER MANAGEMENT 'l'ERl.fl <br /> <br />RAmE MANAGEMENT--The art and science of planning and directing range <br />use to obtain sustained maximum animal production, consistent with <br />perpetuation of the natural resources. <br /> <br />REACH--A specified length of stream, channel, or canal. <br /> <br />RECHAroE--8ee GROUND-WATER RECHAroE. <br /> <br />RECHAroE BASIN--A basin intended to increase infiltration for the <br />purpose of replenishing ground l~ater supply. <br /> <br />RECONNAISSANCE ESTIMATE--An estimate made in order to decide which <br />features of a proposed project should be investigated in more detail. <br /> <br />RECONNAISSANCE REPORT--A report based on existing data and a minimum <br />of reconnaissance field surveys which presents info:nnation on the <br />potentialities of 1a.nd and water resOurces in a given area. to <br />indicate whether further detailed investigations are justifie4. <br /> <br />RECREATION-DAY--A statistical unit of recreation use consisting Of a <br />visit by one person for all or a portion of one day.
