This oper-

ation is made possible by the use of Blue Mesa storage for reregulating

Taylor Park releases to meet the requirements of the Uncompahgre Project.

Resulting higher levels in Blue Mesa also improve the recreation potential

there during the summer months.

Total storage in the combined Upper Basin reservoirs and Lake Mead

is about 4.5 MAF more than at this time last year.

General Investigations

Feasibility Investigations

The five Colorado projects,

ANIMAS-LA PLATA, DOLORES, DALLAS CREEK,
presently before congress~or action

SAN MIGUEL, and WEST DIVIDE, are

relative to authorization. The Dolores Project report was submitted to

Congress on March 15, 1966, and the remaining project reports on May 3,

1966.

Feasibility designs and estimates for Owens Dam and Buzzard Creek

Dam, features of the BATTLEMENT MESA PROJECT, are underway. Assembly of

design data for other project features and preparation of the agricultural

economy, water supply, and plan formulation appendices are in progress,

Cooperative studies with other Federal agencies are continuing.
