Approximately <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />3,000 individuals attended these meetings to take part in the discussions about <br /> <br />the criteria. As a result many resolutions, recommendations, and comments were <br /> <br />submitted in for.mulating the regulations that will be discussed. <br /> <br />At the hearings in Washington on March 25 several groups gave general <br /> <br />endorsements to the proposed rule. These included: tbe National Association <br /> <br />of Counties, National Recreation Association, National Association of Soil and <br /> <br />Water Conservation Districts, Utah State' Land Board, Western States Land <br /> <br />Commissioners Association, Wilderness Society, National Parks Association, <br /> <br />.1 <br />I <br /> <br />Citizens' Committee on Natural Resources, Oregon State Advisory Board for Public <br /> <br />Lands, Izask Walton League of America, National Wildlife Federation, The Nature <br /> <br />Conservancy, and the AFL-CIO. <br /> <br />Revi.ions and amendments were suggested by others, including the American <br /> <br />Mining Congress, American National Cattlemens Association, National Woolgrovers <br /> <br />Association, Nevada State Central Committee of Grazing District Advisory Boards, <br /> <br />Colorado Cattlemens Association, Wyoming Woolgrowers Association, Carbon County <br /> <br /> <br />(Wyoming) Cattlemen and Woolgrowers, and Judge Dan H. Hughes of Montrose, <br /> <br /> <br />Colorado . <br /> <br />8 <br />
