<br />lhese specifications shall be tested by the contractor

<br />l?LJring a'period of time agreed to by the contractor
<br />~hd the contracting officer, representatives of the
<br />cor.ltractor and the contracting officer shall make
<br />~rrangements for a complete check of the wiring of the
<br />entire installation. During this period the contractor
<br />'.' shall process the checkout to completion, shaH retain
<br />I~jl responsibility for the removal and replacement of
<br />any wiring connections as required in the processing of
<br />the checkout, and shall make any wiring changes which
<br />are necessary for the proper and adequate functioning
<br />..of the installation. The contractor shall be responsible
<br />fo.r and shaH replace at his own expense, any wiring,
<br />instruments, or equipment, which may be damaged in
<br />the' checkout process, unless this damage results from
<br />negligence by the ,Govemment. The wiring checkout
<br />shall include the. insulation test of al~ dbies and
<br />conduct~rs installed by the contractor'- iSee Paragraph
<br />~.22 of Bureau of Reclamation Desig'l'1 Stan~ards No.
<br />5.1 tt shall be the ~esponsibility of the contractor to
<br />have competent personnel at the site processing the
<br />checkout.

<br />If desired by the contractor or by the Government,
<br />tests shalf be performed on individuat items of
<br />equipment in advance of the comp\efi~n of the
<br />electrical installation. In conjunction with this
<br />requirement, the Goverment wm Poot request tests on
<br />individual items that will require power in excess of
<br />that available for constructioi1' pucposes. The
<br />Government will provide electrtc"~ power for the
<br />acce ptance tests of electrical' :.equipment. The
<br />contractor shall furnish all equipment a.nd materials,
<br />beyond that furnished under this contract, that are
<br />required for the checkout and tests. The con.tractor
<br />shall notify the Government in writing at least 72
<br />hours in advance of the time each test on individual
<br />items is 10 be made in order that .the .tests may be
<br />wjtnessed by a repre~entative of' the contracting
<br />officer. The cost of performing the checkout and tests
<br />and the cost for furnishing equipment and materials for
<br />the checkout and tests shall be included in the
<br />appHcable prices bid in the schedule for furnishing and
<br />installing the various items of equipment and materials
<br />that require checking and testing.
