.

3148

Introduction and Summary

ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL EVALUATION

The results of Re.clamation's advanced planning studies show
that a conservation pool of 20,000 acre-feet plus the use of the
unsedimented portion of the joint use pool (e.stimated to average
19,500 acre-feet for the 75-year payout period) will provide
optimum regulation for the available irrigation water. Benefits
resulting from the water supply improvement amount to $270,440
annually, and the. annual recommended water charges are $99,100.
Of this amount, $9,700 or $0.49 per irrigable acre will be used
for Federal OM&R expenses, and the remaining $89,400 or $4.54 per
acre, is the amortization capacity. This amount is sufficient to
amortize the project costs chargeable to irrigation during a payout
period of 75 years, of which the first 5 years will be the
development period.

.

.

5
