The Association also <br />serves as the operation and maintenance organization for the project. <br />An 9 ~n Board of Directors elected by the water users governs the <br />activities of the association. <br /> <br />Project Operation <br /> <br />From its inception to December 31, 1931, the project was operated <br />and maintained by the Bureau of Reclamation. Since January 1, 1932, <br />the project has been operated and maintained by the Uncompahgre Valley <br />Water Users Association. <br /> <br />A project manager, respoDsible to the Board of Directors of the <br />Association, supervises the present operation and maintenance force <br />consisting of approximately 50 permanent employees for normal operation <br />of the project.
