The following fields (columns) in
Table 1 contain soils information as described below:

Field

DescrlDtion

Depth of the soil profile in inches.

The amount of plant available water
which can be held in a one inch
depth of the soil profile.

The amount of plant available water
which can be held in the soil
profile, in inches. Equal to the
soil depth multiplied by the
available water capacity.

An index of the hydrologic soil-cover
complex and an indicator of runoff
characteristics.

Soil Depth (in.)
Available Water Capacity (in/in)

Total Available Water (in)

Hydrologic Soil Group

A zero in either the FWDC SHARES or CONE SHARES columns in Table 1 indicates no
shares in that ditch company are owned by that individual. A zero or blank in any other
column on Table 1 indicates no information or incomplete information was available from the
irrigator.

Table 2 is a listing of the same database fields as in Table 1 with the information sorted by
shareowner,

The following tables have been included which display only selected information from the
database (data fields have been grouped together and indexed to allow easy review of
specific data items): .

Table 3 displays selected fields from the database including a field which shows the
respondent's preference for either additional early season, or additional late season
water supply. The information in Table 3 is sorted by earlYllate season preference
and township-range-section location. As in Table 1, a blank entry in the LA TE/EARL Y
column indicates the individual interviewed had no preference. An 'E' indicates
preference for additional early season supply, an 'L' for late season preference, and a
'B' indicates the individual desires both additional early and late season supply. A
summary of shareowners preference for additional late or early season water supply
by ditch company follows:

Seasonal # of Shares
Preference Gurlev Cone
Early 2,006 48
Late 2,738 92
Both 323 20 :,
None 1 ,424 17 'I

4
