-
N
tn

,-
-

Table 1 in Appendix S shows a listing of the database sorted by land parcel number. Plate 1,
attached to this report, is a map of the study area showing major geographical features such
as the Gurley and Cone ditches, major highways, Gurley and Cone reservoirs, irrigated land
parcels, and township-range-section grid lines.

The map shown in Plate 1 and the tables in this report may be used together to review
characteristics of each land parcel identified during the interview process. The parcel
numbers shown on Plate 1 correspond to the parcel numbers in the tables. Each parcel of
land is uniquely numbered. Each record in the database (each line in Table 1) corresponds
to a single land parcel. In some cases, there is more than one record in the database (more
than one line in Table 1) in order to display all of the recorded information regarding a
particular parcel.

An explanation of the information contained in Table 1 follows. The PARC # column in
Table 1 is the number assigned to the irrigated land parcel identified by the irrigator and
corresponds to the parcel number on Plate 1, The TS, RNG, SEC, as, and aas columns
indicate the irrigated land parcel location by township, range, section, quarter-section, and
quarter-quarter-section. The SHAREOWNER column contains the names of the owner(s) of
the ditch company shares associated with the parcel of land. The OPERATOR column lists
the name of the person operating the parcel of land. The operator is either the shareowner,
lessee, or someone running the irrigation operation. The FWDC SHARES column contains
the number of shares in the Farmers' Water Development Company which are available for
that land parcel. Similarly, the CONE SHARES column contains the number of shares in the
Lone Cone Ditch and Reservoir Company which are available for that land parcel. When an
individual shareowner had more than one land parcel, the total shares owned were evenly
distributed to individual parcels based on the acreage of each parcel. The IRR ACRES
column is the irrigated acreage as reported by the shareowner or irrigator. The IRRIGATION
METHOD column lists the method used on that parcel as reported by the irrigator.

The column labeled RATE in Table 1 is the irrigation application rate in inches per hour and
was computed from information obtained during the irrigator interviews. A zero in the RATE
column indicates not enough information was available from the interview to compute the
irrigation application rate. The SET TIME column in Table 1 is the amount of time, in hours,
water is run continuously on the same portion of land. The CYCLE TIME column is the time,
in days, between irrigation applications on the same portion of land. The PREFER
LATE/EARLY column lists the individual'S seasonal preference for additional water supply,
An "L" indicates late season preference, an "E" early season preference, and a "S" indicates
the individual desires an increased supply in both early and late season, A blank appears in
this field if the individual did not indicate a preference. The SCS HELP column indicates
whether the individual would be interested in obtaining assistance from the SCS with
planning and management techniques such as irrigation scheduling. A summary of
shareowners interest in obtaining assistance fron'fthe SCS, by ditch company, follows:

Interested
In Assistance

# of Shares
Gurlev Cone

Yes
No

I

5072
1419
6491

178
-1
179

3
