Releases from Navajo Reservoir will be subject to the provisions <br />of Par. 1 but norma~lY snall be in accord with the following: <br /> <br />a. A continuous flow of at least 350 cubic feet per second <br /> <br />shall be maintained at all times in the channel immediately <br /> <br />below Navajo Dam or such larger amount as may be required <br /> <br />to maintain a flow of at least 500 cubic feet per second <br /> <br />in the San Juan River below the mouth of the Animas River. <br /> <br />,'" <br /> <br />This release should be more than adequate to meet water <br /> <br />uses in the San Juan Basin for the next few years. How- <br /> <br />ever, nothing in these Rules is intended to preclude the <br /> <br />use of storage below elevation 5,990 feet for beneficial <br /> <br />uses downstream from the reservoir, and larger relea~es <br /> <br />for beneficial purposes will be made if necessary. <br /> <br />b. After the completion ot the repair work on the outlet works <br /> <br />stilling basin in about March 1968, the reservoir water <br /> <br />,,,...rface will be raised to elevation 5,990 feet. Thereafter, <br /> <br />ohe reservoir water surface will be maintained at or above <br /> <br />elevation 5,990 feet unless the provisions of Par. 3(a) <br /> <br />require withdrawals below this level. Such withdrawals <br /> <br />:ill be recovered as rapidly as inflow to the reservoir <br /> <br />permits. <br /> <br />c. During the recreation season any water stored involuntarily <br /> <br />above elevation 5,990 feet and not required to be released <br /> <br />under the provisions of Paragraphs 2 and 3(a) will be <br /> <br />maintained through September 30 and thereafter released as <br /> <br />rapidly as practicable. <br /> <br />2 <br />
