Powers and duties. <br />mission shall have power: <br /> <br />The Colora.do River CllIIIOo <br />, <br /> <br />1. To represent the state in oivil and lega.l matters pertaining <br />to the Colorado River and i'ts 'tribu'taries wi'thin the state. <br /> <br />2. To olaim rights in the Colorado River for the state, by and <br />with the approval of the governor, and to enf'oroe and defend suoh <br />rights in the oourts. <br /> <br />3. To enf'oroe existing rights and olaims of' the state in the <br />Colorado River. <br /> <br />4. To make applioation for dam sites upon the Colorado River <br />and its tributaries andperfeot the state's rights thereto with any <br />departlll6nt of the state, or of another state or the United States. <br /> <br />5. Te make appropriations of waters of the Colorado River not <br />otherwise appropriated, and oooperate with the state water connnissioner <br />in the discharge of his duties in oonneotion with appropriations of <br />the waters of said river. <br /> <br />6. To negotia'te for and ooopera;te with any state or with the <br />government of the United States in making surveys of the Colorado River <br />and its tributaries in Arizona. <br /> <br />7. To gathor data regarding projeots for the use in this state <br />of the water of the Colora.do River for irrigation or power, and <br />disseminate the inf'ormation so gp.therod to the end 'that uses may be <br />found for the eleotrioal power possible of development by means of <br />suoh water. <br /> <br />8.
