Work with ERS, State Soil Scientist, and State <br />Resource Conservationist to establish criteria <br />for land capability units. Place each capability <br />class.subclass-etc. for each soil 'series (named <br />and unnamed) into its respective land capability <br />unit. <br />b. Determine (wiERS) what detail inventory and accu- <br />racy needed. Help as needed in actual inventory <br />and tabulate acreages for each LeU within each <br />planning unit,and for entire basin {if desired). <br />c. Within each LCU, develop various management <br />alternatives for each type of crop or crop rota- <br />tion. <br />d. Develop a linear program model to USe in evaiua- <br />ting alternative plans on private and state lands. <br />Work w!FS to insure consistency in data and <br />analysis. Develop response units from planning <br />units, lCUs, range sites, and water resources. <br />e. Work witn local representative to divide the basin <br />into planning units. These divisions are to be <br />made considering: <br />1. County governments <br />2. Irrigation districts <br />3. Water sources <br />4. Hydrological divisions <br />5. Time involved in inventories and detai 1 of <br />analysis desired. <br />6. Matrix to be constructed for analysis by lP <br />Model <br />7.
