<br />00051H <br /> <br />STRATEGIES <br /> <br />It is imperative to the success of this communicationslpublic involvement plan that it be <br />considered "a work in progress," with the flexibility to update as necessary to seize opportunities <br />as they arise. <br /> <br />1. ESTABLISH ACTION PLANNING TEAMS - The magnitude of this plan requires <br />clear planning and direction from those with the authority and responsibility to <br />implement recovery actions. Two teams will be formed - one for Colorado and one for <br />Utah. <br /> <br />Colorado team members will include: <br />. Colorado Division of Wildlife -- area and district(?) wildlife managers and aquatic <br />biologists for the Yampa and Colorado River basins; principal investigators for <br />the projects <br />. Colorado Department of Natural Resources: JolmMarshall, Colorado's I&E <br />Committee representative <br />. Recovery Program: Debbie Felker, l&E Coordinator; Pat Nelson, Nonnative Fish <br />Coordinator; and Gerry Roehm, Instream Flow Coordinator (Yampa River Basin); <br />. Fish and Wildlife Service and Colorado State University: principal investigators <br />for the projects <br />. Others who the State of Colorado may want to include <br /> <br />Utah team members will include: (NOTE: this idea has not yet been discussed with <br />Utah. Depending upon decisions made re: the nature of the scopes of work, this <br />team may not convene in 2002.) <br />. Utah Division of Wildlife Resources -- area and district(?) wildlife managers and <br />aquatic biologists for the Green and Duchesne rivers <br />. Mark Hadley, Utah's I&E Committee representative <br />. Recovery Program: Recovery Program: Debbie Felker, I&E Coordinator; Pat <br />Nelson, Nonnative Fish'Coordinator <br />. Fish and Wildlife Service: principal investigators for the projects; Dave Irving <br />(liaison with Ute Tribe) <br />. Others who the State of Utah may want to include. <br /> <br />The purpose of these teams is to Clearly define and implement strategies numbered 4-11, <br />tailoring them to meet the needs of each particular community where work will occur. <br /> <br />RESPONSIBILITY: Program Director's Office, States of Colorado & Utah; FWS <br />COMPLETION DATE: Hold first meeting in October 2002 <br /> <br />PIP l2?- Nonnative Fish n 6 <br />
