OOH?6

SECTION II

RUNNING THE CRSS

2.1 General Information

This section describes a step-by-step procedure for running
the CRSS. To run the CRSS, the user performs sequentially
some or all of these six steps:

1. Create or modify the CRSM Control Data file (CONTROL).

2. Create the Demand Input Data file (SMDD) by running the
SMDID program. This step is not required if the current ver-
sion of SMDD is to be used.

3. Create the Hydrology Input Data file (MHYDROC) by run-
ning the MHYDRO program. This step is not required if the
current version of MHYDROC is to be used.

4. Create or modify the TAPEDIT Control Data file
(EDITCF) .

5. Run the CRSM program.
6. Run the TAPEDIT program (optional).

-'

section 2.2 describes steps one through four, and section 2.3
describes steps five and six.

2.2 File Creation and/or MOdification

The input files are created and/or modified to include new
data and changes to existing data.

2.2.1 CRSM Control Data File (step One)

The CRSM Control Data file includes the following data:

. Reach identification and basin configuration; location
and identification of diversions, return flows, inflows, and
reservoirs

. Reservoir and powerplant characteristics

. Output options and various run parameters (starting and
ending dates, hydrology years, number of traces, etc.)

. Miscellaneous data that control operations and conditions
specific to the Colorado River Basin

. Transaction card data that modify reservoir or powerplant
data during the run.

5
