OJ,22H

Colorado River Fishes Recovery Team - Robin Knox (DOW)

Robin has the position that Dave Langlois formerly held.
Passed out endangered species brochures.
Concerns of the team have been adequately expressed already in the
meeting.

Colorado Water Conservation Board - John Fetcher

The Board supports the project.

Colorado Water Quality Control Commission - John Fetcher

The Commission is going to set standards on all Colorado streams.
An abrupt change in temperature of the river could be a problem.

Great Northern - Tony Angelo

Juniper Water District - Tony Angelo

Supports project.

(break)

Considerable discussion followed Fisher's request for base data from
FWS research sponsored by USBR. Fischer was rather adamant about
having their consultants participate in the field studies and about
receiving raw, unpublished data.

USBR - Reed Harris

USBR is in consultation with FWS on several Upper Colorado Basin
proposed projects concerning requirements of endangered fish. The
USBR funded projects are designed to provide da m upon which a
biological opinion concerning those projects can be rendered. They
were not designed to provide the information specifically required
for the:Juniper-Cross Mountain Project.

It will probably be a minimum of two years before habitat require-
ments are established for endangered fish.

USBR contract data should not/will not be released to CRWCD until
USBR has evaluated it themselves. This will reduce or ,eliminate the
possibility of someone else drawing inaccurate conclusions from
preliminary data.

9
