<br />be fully metered, either through repair of the old meters or <br /> <br />installation of new ones. <br /> <br />PROPOSED PROJECT <br /> <br />The consultants are recommending to solve the town's problems <br /> <br />in two phases: <br /> <br />The first phase consists of three needed items: <br /> <br />1. Construct a treatment facility to remove turbidity <br /> <br />and chlorinate water. <br /> <br />2. Modify the springs and capture system on Clear <br /> <br />Creek to provide water. <br /> <br />3. Provide earth coverage on about 2,000 feet of <br /> <br />line to avoid freezing. <br /> <br />The second phase consists of items: <br /> <br />1. Install a new 6-inch CIP distribution line to <br /> <br />assist in fire protection. <br /> <br />2. Install new meters throughout the town. <br /> <br />3. Provide added potable storage by moving the <br /> <br />storage tank in the center of town to a higher <br /> <br />elevation. <br /> <br />4. Provide added raw storage by building a small <br /> <br />dam in the Clear Creek drainage basin. This item <br /> <br />would require approval by the office of the Colorado <br /> <br />state engineer, the land owners, and the Colorado Fuel <br /> <br />and Iron Company. <br /> <br />2~\ <br /> <br />-3- <br />
