Station 989 I 50.00. which beare North 290 37' <br /> <br /> <br />0" West 8 distanoe of 631.9 feet from the Southeast corner of Seotion 25. <br /> <br /> <br />T. 5 N., R. 73 W.. a penstock gate structure which leads to the Estes Power <br /> <br /> <br />Plsnt penstocks extends to Station 989 f 75.00. This is followed by a concrete <br /> <br /> <br />headworks section extending to Station 969 185.00 and at Station 989 1-65.00 <br /> <br /> <br />three steel 78" inside diameter penstocks lead to the Estes Power Plant. Said <br /> <br /> <br />penstocks are steel plate varying in thickness from 5/16" at the inlet snd to <br /> <br /> <br />13/16" st the discharge valves. <br /> <br /> <br />The Estes Powsr Plant is located on the south bank of the Big Thompson <br /> <br /> <br />River sbout 1/2 mile east of Estes Park. Larimer County. Colorado. The 96' 6" <br /> <br /> <br />x 145' 0" reinforced concrete building will house three hydraulic turbines fed <br /> <br /> <br />by the three aforementioned penstocks. The three 2l,OOO hp. hydrsulio turbines <br /> <br /> <br />will be direotly connected to three 1?,000 kw electric ~enerstors. Ths total <br /> <br /> <br />installed rated oapacity of the power plant is 45,000 kw. Station 1029 194.64. <br /> <br /> <br />which is the intersection of the centerline of the penstook and the oenterline <br /> <br /> <br />of the three generating units. bears North 760 57!' East a distance of 411S.6 <br /> <br /> <br />feet to the Northeast oorner of Section 30. T. 5 N., R. 72 W. Water passing <br /> <br /> <br />through the said power plant will be disoharged direotly into Estes Park Lake. <br /> <br /> <br />Estes Park Lake is formed by the construction of Olympus Dam across <br /> <br /> <br />the Big Thompson River about one and one-half miles east of the town of Estes <br /> <br /> <br />Park. Larimer County. Colorado. Said lake is contained in parts of Seotion 29 <br /> <br /> <br />end 30. T. 5 N., R. 72 w.. 6th Principal Meridian. The lake aots as pondage <br /> <br /> <br />and re_regulation of water diecharged by the Estes Power Plant. It is also <br /> <br /> <br />the diversion works for the Estes-Foothills Aqueduot and Power System. The <br /> <br /> <br />crost of Olympus Dam is at elevation 7.580. and its length is 1.580 feet. <br /> <br /> <br />The height of the dam is 60 feet.
