Adame Tunnel in a southwesterly direction into

Grand Lake. From station 5/95, which station bears S. 740 3l' W., a dis-

tance of 1262.2 feet from the N? Cor. Seo. 9. T. 3 N., R. 75 W., 6th Prinoi-
pal Meridian, to st.tion 3 192.50, the inlet is a double barreled, reinforced
concrete, earth covered inlet conduit 20 feet in width. From station 3 192.50
tha inlet structure fans out to an arc width of 300 feet at station 2 I 39.00
which arc is the point of entrance of water from Grand Lake. The flow of
water through the inlet into the Alva B. Adams tunnel is controllad by two
steel radial gates located in s gate house at station 5 188.
The said Alva B. Ad~~s tunnel is a 9 feet 9 inch inside diameter
concrete lined section throughout its entire length of 69,029.94 feet with a
slope of 1.55 feet per thousand feet of length. Station 700 1 59.00 is the
outlet or eastern portal of said tunnel and said station bears S. 110 13' 25"
E., s distance of 1967.7 feet from NW Cor., Sec. 9, ,T. 4 N.. R. 73 W., Sixth
Principal Meridian. The tunnel discharges into the East Portal Reservoir.
snd said tunnel is more particularly shown on Sheet 4 of Exhibit C.
8. The Estes Park Aqueduct and Power System (Sheet 4, Exhibit C)
tr~nsports projeot appropriated water from the outlet of the Alva 9. Adams
Tunnel into the Estes Perk Lake formed ryy Olympus Dam across the Big Thompson
River located about one snd one-half miles east of Estes Park" Larimer County,
Colorado. developing hydro-eleotrio power enroute.
The East Portal Reservoir is formed by a rock-fill dam across Wind
River. The reservoir is used to divert western slope water into the Aspen
Creek Siphon, or spill Western Slope flows through an emergency overflow spill-
way down the Wind River ohannel to the Big Thompson River where it oan be
reoaptured in Estes Park Reservoir. East Portal Reservoir has a capsoity of
20 acrs feet. Wind River w~ters are bypassed in a pipe and do not normally
mingle with imported waters in the reservoir. The axis of the dam interseots

the extension of the oenterline of the Adams Tunnel at right angles such that

station 2 100 00 the dam axis coincides with station 708 I 06.0 on the tunnel

2G~S
