.

.

- 13 -

The water impounded in Granby Reservcir will be pumped to Shadow
Mountain Lake 'and thence via Grand Lake and the Alv.. B. Adams Tunnel, trans-
ported to the eastern slope, or p..rt of it released th~ough the spillway or
outlet works to be returned to the Colorado River.

4. The Western Slope Feeder Canals, (Sheets 2, 3, Exhibit C) are a

system of oollection ditches diverting water fr~ the tributeries of the

Colorado River into Granby Reservoir, which oollection ditches are described as

follows,

From Willcw Creek

Willow Creek Reservoir will be formed by e dam ecross Willow Creek

about four miles north of Grenby. Grand COWlty, Colorado. Said reservoir is

located in parts of Sections 7 And 18, T. 2 N., R. 76 W. and Sections 1, 2,
II, 12, and 13, T. 2 N., R. 77 W., 6th Prinoipel Meridien. The reservoir will
..ot ..s a collecting reservoir for storage of water to be diverted into Granby
Reservoir. The height of the darn will be 140 feet. The dam will be ..n earth
and rock fill gravity-type dam, provided with.. sp1l1w..y. St!ltion 7 128.8
on the axis of the d~~, ..nd St..tion 4 156.6 on the diversion tunnel bears
N. 400 10' W., a diBte.nce of 2540.6 feet from the southeast corner of
Section 7, T. 2 N., R. 76 W., of the 6th Principal Meridian. From this point,
water from the reservoir will be conveyed to Granby Reservoir by a canal four
miles in length, heving a c..pacity of 250 seeond feet. This canal will be
constructed on grade from the outlet end of the diversion tunnel for 2.5 miles,
at which point a pumping plant of 250 second feet capacity will be construoted
to raise the water a~proxiwAtely 165 feet to a oanal leading to Grenby
Reservoir in the vicinity of the west abutment of Dike No.4. Sheet 3,
Exhibit C, shows t~e plan of diversion. ~ second cansl from Willow Creek
would convey water stored in Willow Creek to the Colonodo River to meet irri-

gation requirements elong the Colorado River which otherwise would have to be

met by releases from Granby. All intercepted flows from named and unnamed

crAeks enroute to Granby Reservoir will also be diverted into the reservoir.

The ahove ground capacity of oillow Creek Reservoir ie 29.000 a.f.
"Dead" etorage is 4.500 acre feet
"AotiveK storage is 24.500 aore feet
"Bank" storage is 1,000 ecre feet
Total storage is 30,000 "cre-feet 2652
