This ~~ount would be <br />equivalent to ? 1/2 mills per kilowatt-hour for sales in Arizona, <br />to be applied to the purposes stated in section 403(f) of the <br />Basin Project Act (pertaining to repayment of the central <br />Arizona Project) and would be equivalent to 2 1/2 mills per <br />kilowat~-hour for sales in California and Nevada to be aoolied <br />to the purposes. of section 403(g) of the Basin Project Act <br />(pertaining to salinity control, as provided in section 205(b) <br />of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Act, ~"d to au~en- <br />tation of the Colorado River as may be authorized by the Congress). <br />After repayment of the Central Arizona Project the ~~ounts to <br />be included in rates from the Boulder Canyon and Parker-Davis <br />projects would be a ~"iform amount equivaient to 2 1/2 mills <br />per kilowatt-hour for sales in all three states, to be aoolied <br />to ~~e above-described purposes of section 403(g) of the-Sasin <br />Project Act. <br /> <br />SEC. 203: (a) Would remove ~~e ceiling on <br />advances under the Boulder Canyon Project Act which currently <br />is set at $165,000,000 in order to accow~odate the increase in <br />authorized appropriations proposed in section 203(b). <br /> <br />(b) Would amend section 3 of the Boulder Canyon <br />Project Act by increasing the amount au~~orized for appropria- <br />tion for the purposes of ~~e Boulder Canyon Project Act from <br />$165,000,000 to $242,000,000 and identifies the $77,000,000 <br />increase as attributable to L~e costs of the Uprating Progr~~ <br />and of the Visitor Facilities Program. <br /> <br />SEC. 204: (a) ~,d (b) Would continue the existing <br />rate-making provisions of the Boulder Canyon project Adjustment <br />Act ("Adjustment Act"), including the 50-year repayment principle, <br />beyond May 31, 1987. <br /> <br />(c) Would require that the ~~ounts provided for <br />in the revisions proposed to section 403(c)(2) of the Basin <br />Project Act [see section 202(b) of our proposed amendments] be <br />included in determining the power rates for the Boulder Canyon <br />Project under the AdjusL~ent Act. <br /> <br />(d)(1) Would provide an operating fund out of <br />which costs of ooeration, main~enance, reolacement and emercrency <br />expenditures of the Boulder Canyon Project may be met, including <br />the cost of purchasing supplemental energy t~ meet ~emporary <br />deficiencies in firm energ-I for which L'le Secretary of ;::"ergy <br />has contracted. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
