002432

Durango Pumoing Plant - Stage 1

1) Formed surfaces where indicated on the drawings.

2) Sack-rub surfaces after all required patching and correction of
imperfections have been completed as follows:

a) Thoroughly wet and commence sack rubbing while
surfaces are still damp.

b) Use mortar consisting of 1 part cement; 2 parts, by volume,
of sand passing a No. 16 screen; and enough water so that
the consistency of the mortar is that of thick cream.

c) Blending of cement with white cement may be necessary to
obtain a color that will match that of the surrounding
concrete surface.

d) Thoroughly rub mortar over the area with clean burlap or a
sponge rubber float so as to fill all pits, bugholes, and other
defects.

e) While the mortar in the pits is still plastic, rub the surface
over with a dry mix of the above proportions and material
to remove the excess plastic material and place enough dry
material in the pits to stiffen and solidify the mortar so that
the fillings will be flush with the surface.

f) Remove all material from the surface except that within
the pits.

g) Continue curing the surface as specified.

D. Unformed Surfaces

I. The classes of finish for unformed concrete surfaces are designated by the
symbols UI, U2, and U3.

2. Slope interior surfaces for drainage where shown on the drawings or directed.

3. Surfaces which will be exposed to the weather and which would normally be
level: slope for drainage.

4. Provide the following slopes unless the use of other slopes or level surfaces is
indicated on the drawings:

a. Narrow surfaces, such as tops of walls: slope approximately 3/8 inch per
foot of width.

5. Finish U1 (screeded finish)

a. Unformed surfaces that will be covered by fill material, grout, or concrete.

b. First stage of finishes U2 and U3.

c. For finishing operations provide sufficient leveling and screeding to
produce even uniform surfaces.

Finish U2 (floated finish)

6.

,

Cast-in-Place Concrete
03300 . 28
