<br />ODZ'i31 <br /> <br />Durango Pumoing Plant - Stage I <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Apply light sand-blast finish to cast-in-p1ace colored concrete in accordance with <br />ACI303. Surface oflight sand-blast finsh should expose fine aggregate and <br />occasional coarse aggregate with a maximum reveal of approximately 1/16. <br /> <br />Schedule all sand-blasting so the surfaces ofthe cast-in-place colored are the <br />same age. Apply sand-blast finish at least 28 days after placements are <br />completed. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />B: Finishing <br /> <br />1. The classes of finish and the requirements for finishing of concrete surfaces are <br />specified in this paragraph, Section 03110 - Concrete Formwork, and tables <br />03300C - Formed Surfaces and 03300D - Unformed Surfaces or as otherwise <br />shown on the drawings. <br /> <br />2. Where fmishes are not specified or shown on the drawings for a particular <br />structure or surface, finish as specified for similar work. <br /> <br />3. Finish concrete only when Contracting Officer is present unless inspection is <br />waived in each specific case. <br /> <br />4. Concrete surface variations wi)) be measured by the Contracting Officer where <br />necessary to verify that concrete surfaces are within the specified tolerances. <br /> <br />5. Repair finished concrete which is not within the specified tolerances. <br /> <br />C. Formed Surfaces <br /> <br />I. The classes of finish for formed concrete surfaces are designated by the symbols <br />F1, F2, and F3. The classes of finish apply as follows: <br /> <br />a. Finish FI <br /> <br />I) Formed surfaces upon or against which fill material, grout, or <br />concrete is to be placed. <br /> <br />2) Protect form tie rod ends on surfaces which will be in contact with <br />fill material from moisture if they will be below EI. 6450.. <br /> <br />3) Protect by recessing the tie rod ends and filling the recesses with <br />dry pack or other approved material. <br /> <br />4) Form tie rod ends on surfaces which will be in contact with <br />concrete or form tie rod ends on surfaces which will be in contact <br />with fill material may be cut off flush with the formed surfaces or <br />may be recessed without filling. <br /> <br />b. Finish F2 <br /> <br />I) Formed surfaces not permanently concealed by fill material, grout, <br />or concrete, or not required to receive finish F3. <br /> <br />2) Protect by recessing the tie rod ends and filling the recesses with <br />dry pack or other approved material. <br /> <br />Finish F3 <br /> <br />,I <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Cast-in-Place Concrete <br />03300 - 27 <br />
