Stage 1 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Provide curing compound of uniform consistency and quality within each <br />container and from shipment to shipment. <br /> <br />Use ASTM C 309 Type 1 or ID, Class B curing compound (water-emulsified, <br />resin-base curing compound on surfaces exposed to fish. Provide certification <br />that curing compound is approved for use in potable water supplies in accordance <br />with standard ANSI/NSF 61 1997B 69RL. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />J. Polyethylene film: ASTM C 171, white or black polyethylene. Use white in warm <br />weather and black in cold weather. <br /> <br />2.02 EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />A. Weighing and Measuring Equipment <br /> <br />I. Accurate to 0.40 percent over the working range. <br /> <br />2. Conforming to the applicable requirements of the National Bureau of Standards <br />Handbook 44, Specifications, Tolerances, and Other Technical Requirements for <br />Commercial Weighing and Measuring Devices. <br /> <br />3. Schedule and perform monthly static tests to ensure that the operating <br />performance of each scale and measuring device is within the 0.40-percent <br />accuracy and provide standard test weights and any other equipment necessary to <br />conduct these tests. <br /> <br />Perform the tests in the presence of the Contracting Officer and subject to the <br />Contracting Officer's approval. Perform additional tests, in addition to monthly <br />tests, when required to ensure acceptability of weighing and measuring <br />equipment. <br /> <br />Adjust, repair, or replace as necessary to meet the specified measurement <br />accuracy. <br /> <br />Provide equipment capable of adjustment to automatically compensate for the <br />varying moisture content of the sand and coarse aggregates and to adjust the mix <br />proportions as needed. <br /> <br />Inform the Contracting Officer prior to and after changes and adjustments in <br />batching equipment and control instrumentation. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />6. <br /> <br />7. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />B. Weighing Unit <br /> <br />I. Provide weighing unit which is springless and visibly registers the actual weights <br />during the weighing operation and not just indicates when a prescribed weight has <br />been obtained. <br /> <br />2. Scale gradations <br /> <br />a. Clear interval for dial scale graduations: not less than 0.03 inch. <br /> <br />b. Each scale graduation shall indicate increments no greater than 2.5 pounds <br />for water and cement, and no more than 10 pounds for aggregate for each <br />cubic yard normally batched. <br /> <br />Cast-in-Place Concrete <br />03300 - 13 <br />
