extension techniques for CRDSS. It is expected to contain approximately 3 - 5 pages
of text.

10.4.3. Incorporate State comments into a final memorandum.

10.5. Prepare Scope of Work for Implementation Activities to be performed in this subtask
include:

10.5.1. Prepare a comparison matrix of all methods of data extension examined in previous
subtasks. The advantages and disadvantages of each method will be described. Test
case comparisons will be performed to provide concrete examples and results to
facilitate the decision making process. These comparisons will be limited to a few
select locations and limited in the time span of data extension. In cooperation with
the State, prepare a Draft and Final Recommended Data Extension memorandum that
describes a data extension approach for the CRDSS Water Resource Planning Model.

10.5.2, Revise Task II, Task 12 of this scope of work and the associated schedule and cost
estimate based on the information developed in previous subtasks. Included in tl'oJ.s
revision will be the recommended method tor data extension (regression, stochastic,
or other methods), the recommended structure for interfacing with CRDSS, a revised
schedule and a revised cost estimate. Two possible alternative methods for
interfacing with CRDSS are: (I) Utilize a separate model off-line from CRDSS that
would generate sequences of data that would be entered into CRDSS similar to a
historic data set. (2) Incorporate the model into CRDSS and allow for generation of
extended data sets within the model.

10.5.3, Incorporate State comments to final scope, schedule, and budget.

De/iverables:

I. Draft and final Data Extension Feasibility and Evaluation of Methodology memorandum.

2, Draft and final Extension of Historic Data memorandum.

3. Draft and final Development of Stochastic Data memorandum.

4. Draft and final Other Data Extension Methods memorandum.

5. Recommended Data Extension memorandum. As appropriate, revise the Task 11, Task 12,
schedule, and budget for implementing recommended method of data extension.

Task 11 - Historic Data Extension

Responsibility: Boyle

Objective: To develop and implement an extended historic data base for the CRDSS Water
Resource Planning Models for use in simulations and analyses. It is anticipated that this data base
will extend the current 17 year (1975-1991) period of record on the order of an additional 50 to 75
years.

C:I wlcrdsslscopelboy I I Iblcrdss3. doc

0759

5/30/97 - Page 16
