Keyes, Jr., NAIWMC <br /> <br /> <br />Let us go ahead and get started with the second NAIWMC Cooperative Plan- <br /> <br /> <br />ning Session on the Colorado River Weather Modification Demonstration Project <br /> <br /> <br />(CODEPT). We would like to run this session informally, similar to the session <br /> <br /> <br />held last August. First of all, I would like everyone here to introduce <br /> <br /> <br />himself. Those attending the session were: <br /> <br />Ray Jay Davis, University of Arizona, College of Law <br />Arnett Dennis, NOAA Environmental Research Laboratories <br />Jim Eastgate, North Dakota Weather Modification Board <br />Pat Hurley, Bureau of Reclamation, Denver <br />Grant Johnson, Human Ecology Research Services, Boulder <br />Archie Kahan, Bureau of Reclamation, Denver <br />Conrad Keyes, NAIWMC, Las Cruces, N.M. <br />Larry Morrill, Colorado Water Conservation Board, Denver <br />Paul Summers, Utah Division of Water Resources <br />Bob Tyner, Southwestern Colorado Water Conservation <br />Vernon Valantine, Colorado River Board, Los Angeles <br /> <br />Others indicating reasons for non-attendance were: <br /> <br />Bill Warskow, Salt River Project <br />IvaI Goslin, Upper Colorado River Commission <br />Don Finlayson, California Department of Water Resources <br />Philip Briggs, Arizona Water Commission <br /> <br />All of those non-attending are working on water project matters related to <br /> <br />legislation or Federal activities at this time. <br /> <br />We will proceed with the agenda items. I hope most of you have received <br /> <br />the letters and position statements supporting the concept of the Bureau of <br /> <br />Reclamation's Colorado River Weather Modification Demonstration Project (see <br /> <br />Attachments A & C). Today, we hope to arrive at some sort of strategy to <br /> <br />obtain financial support from the U. S. Congress. <br /> <br />Bob Tyner will bring us up-to-date on the present activities in the State <br /> <br />of Colorado. <br /> <br />B. Current Activity in Colorado - Bob Tyner, Southwestern Water Conservation <br />District of Colorado and Larry Morrill, Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />In November, the Rio Grande Water Conservancy District (located on the <br />eastside of the San Juan Mountains) and the Southwestern Water Conservation <br />District (located on the westside of the San Juan's) presented a proposal to <br />carry out a three-year cooperative effort in augmenting the snowpack in the San <br />Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado (December 1, 1976 letter and proposal in <br /> <br />30 <br /> <br />, <br />, <br />f <br />, <br />t <br />I <br />, <br /> <br />I <br />
