<br />002043 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is unlikely that the Tribal Council will be able to meet before February 26, 2003; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Selwyn Whiteskunk, one ofthe Tribal Council members assigned to oversee the <br />Animas - La Plata Project, Robin Halverson, General Manager ofthe Weeminuche Construction <br />Authority, Preston Corsa, the Tribe's Controller, Daniel Israel, the Tribe's Special Counsel on <br />water matters, and Peter Ortego, the Tribe's General Counsel, have been working diligently to <br />complete the Construction Contract in a timely manner. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Tribal Council hereby authorizes the Tribal <br />Council's Animas - La Plata Committee presently consisting of Harold Cuthair, Ernest House, <br />Sr., and Selwyn Whiteskunk, to negotiate and finalize the Durango Pumping Plant Stage 1 <br />Construction Contract; <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, so long as the Contract meets the approval of the Animas- <br />La Plata Committee, the Vice Chairman is hereby authorized to sign the Contract; and <br /> <br />BE IT FINALL Y RESOLVED that the Ute Mountain Tribal Council authorizes the Vice <br />Chairman to sign this Resolution and further authorizes him to take such action as may be <br />necessary to carry out the intent of this Resolution. <br /> <br />The foregoing Resolution was duly adopted this 12th day of February 2003. <br /> <br />~~w <br /> <br />Ute Mountain Tribal Council <br /> <br />CERTIFICATION <br /> <br />This is to certify that there was there was quorum of 5 Tribal Council members present at <br />a regular meeting of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Council held on February 12, 2003, that 4 <br />voted for and 0 opposed this resolution, with 0 abstaining, and that this Resolution was, <br />therefore, duly adopted. <br /> <br /> <br />Mariea Rivera, Recording Secretary <br />Ute Mountain Tribal Council <br /> <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />Resolution Number 2002-20 <br />
