<br />'t" ,. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />00Q553 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The rcservoir will have a storage capacity of 7,590 acre-feet and <br /> <br />a surface area of 182 acres. <br /> <br />The West Divide and East Divide Canals will head on West <br /> <br />Divide Creek and will divert natural flows of that stream as well <br /> <br />as releases from Huntsman Canal and Haystack Reservoir for conveyance <br /> <br />to points of use. The West Divide Canal, the largest project distri- <br /> <br />but ion canal, will have a length of 49 miles and will terminate near <br /> <br />the town of Grand Valley. <br /> <br />Yank Creek Reservoir, with a storage capacity of 9,210 acre- <br /> <br />i <br />t <br />, <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />, <br />L <br /> <br />feet and a surface area of 146 acres, will store surplus flows of North <br /> <br />Thompson Creek. The reservoir storage water will be released to the <br /> <br />stream for conveyance by the Fourmile Canal to delivery points along <br /> <br />EdgertQnCreek', and Fourmile Creek. <br /> <br />Recreation and fishing opportunities will be provided by <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />the three project reservoirs and Placita Reservoir will be operated <br /> <br />to reduce downstream flood damage. Sufficient flows will be maintained <br /> <br />in proj ect streams to prelierve present fishery values and to meet <br /> <br />requirements of senior water rights. <br /> <br />An annual average of 193,000 acre-feet of water will be <br /> <br />developed for project,ulie. This amount includes 115,600 acre-feet <br /> <br />for irrigation and 77,500 acre-feet for municipal and indulitrial use. <br /> <br />The irrigation water will be provided for use on 39,920 acres of <br /> <br />land, including 18,890 acreli of new land not presently irrigated and <br /> <br />21,030 acres of lands needing supplemental ~ater.The depletion of . <br /> <br />streamflow due to the project is estimated at 76,400 acre-feet annually. <br />
