The CWCB schedules and sets priorities for these <br /> <br />studies. The CWCB is also responsible for coordinating the studies <br /> <br />with related activities of other state, regional, and federal agencies <br /> <br />including HUD, Federal Insurance Administration, the U. S. Army Corps <br /> <br />of Engineers, U. S. Bureau of Reclamation, U. S. Geological Survey, <br /> <br />and A&E firms. <br /> <br />The requesting local government is responsible for obtaining permission <br /> <br />to carry out field surveys, providing public information coverage, and <br /> <br />using the study findings in its local floodplain management program. <br /> <br />The CWCB and local units of government are responsible for the distri- <br /> <br />bution and interpretation of flood hazard study reports and providing <br /> <br />continuing information and educational services. <br /> <br />The SCS is responsible for conducting the technical studies and pro- <br /> <br />viding le~dership in preparing flood hazard reports. The SCS assists <br /> <br />the CWCB and local units of government in the interpretation of flood <br /> <br />hazard data needed in the preparation and implementation of floodplain <br /> <br />management programs, and the distribution of final reports. <br /> <br />Plan of Study <br /> <br />A plan of study approved by the SCS Administrator is required before <br />
